Downing Grey Progressive Rock Tribute Band performs “Tarkus” by Emerson Lake & Palmer at Keegan Ales

While most tribute bands pay homage to one specific band, supergroup Downing Grey pays tribute to the entire genre of progressive rock – covering nine different bands. This Emerson Lake & Palmer (ELP) piece “Tarkus (Part 1: Eruption)” is the opening track from ELP’s 1971 album Tarkus.  This video was shot live on location at Keegan Ales, Kingston, New York, on December 7th, 2013.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer, also known as ELP, are a sporadically active English progressive rock supergroup. They found success in the 1970s and have sold over forty million albums and headlined large stadium concerts. The band consists of Keith Emerson (keyboards), Greg Lake (bass guitar, vocals, guitar) and Carl Palmer (drums, percussion). They are one of the most popular and commercially successful progressive rock bands.
